Snow Day Sick Day

Cold and Flu season has hit our house hard. Jason has been sick since he got home from Las Vegas and unfortunately he gave the bug to me. Luckily my mom and dad were gracious enough to pick Jacob up last night before the storm got into full swing. Hopefully after resting all day I will feel better because I miss my little guy. However, I know he's better off healthy and with Grandma than sick at home with mommy and daddy. Here's a quick look at the medication on our counter. (I think we have day and night covered with this assortment)

I guess in Jasons case some things didn't stay in Vegas!

Relaxing Weekend

After Jason spent most of the week in Las Vages Jacob and I were both happy to have him home Friday night. We were also ready for a relaxing weekend with daddy around and that's exactly what we had. With daddy home and nothing to do on Saturday night we went to church allowing us to sleep in Sunday moring. Sunday Jacob spent most of the day in his pj's allowing daddy to get a few cute pictures.

Sitting in the toy bin seems to be one of Jacob's newest and favorite tricks. He is also making some new and interesting expressions. (Don't you wonder what he's thinking?)

Sunday afternoon Jacob also used his christmas sled. He seemed to love putting his hands in the snow as we pulled him.

Mr. Monkey Business

Jacob has been into everything over the last few days. Often making a mess for mom to clean up. Most of the time the situation is to funny to get upset about. I am loving Jacob at this age he is so busy making me laugh.
Jacob wanted to try to make his own bottle after emptying his diaper bag. So much for being able to quick run down and change a load of laundry. :)
Friday night before we went to visit the Slaghs new baby Addison Jason was taking a quick nap in the chair while I got ready. Meanwhile Jacob and Quincy not only got the Cheerios out of the cupboard but also managed to pour the whole box onto the floor for them to share. As I return from the bedroom Jason simply mentions that he thinks Jacob and Quincy might be into something. Ya think!!!!!
At least Jacob is good about making most of his messes in the Kitchen.

Tulip Time

Yes, Tulip Time may be 4 months away but over here at the DeWitt house we are already thinking about it. Last year Jacob was luck enough to wear his Uncle Tom's costume to the festivities but this year his darling little cousin Gabe will be wearing his dad's costume so Jacob will need his own. Luckily Grandma was willing to make him one because although I own a sewing machine my skills are minimal. (Very Minimal) Today the 3 of us went to Fields and picked out our fabric, I think it's going to be adorable with the little, red and blue cheeked shirt and big baloon pants! I will update you all on our progress.

New Year New Tricks

Yes, Jacob has successfully found the toilet paper roll and anything else he can get his hands on and make a mess of. He's dump the garbage out on top of himself numerous times this week and pinched his fingers in the cabinets. (I guess it's time to child proof a few more things!!!)
We attempted to turn our ten month old into an artist with his new crayons from Santa however we are thinking we should have waited until he was 12 months like the packaging said the blue mark you see is Jason's (He's not an artist either) Jacob also ended the coloring session in tears.
Quiny also has a New Years Trick when we leave she jumps up into Grandpa Keith's recliner and makes herself real comfortable only to act shy when we return home. (Sorry Keith)

Party #2,3,4&5

The rest our Christmas parties seemed so busy we are still recoverying and finding our house back from underneath all of the fun plastic toys Jacob recieved.

We had the Bouwens Party at which Grandma got her first computer!! She says it's going to take a little bit to learn but we know she will catch on quick. The boys also had matching outfits for the big party.

On both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we had 2(kinda 3) parties so Jacob didn't do much sleeping but we did survive. (It may have been harder on us than it was on him) :)

Christmas Eve Moring we had a visit from the Simons minus Milo. Then we had Pizza and Presents at my Parents at noon. All the adults played Wii while Gabe slept and Jacob climbed on the presents.
Christmas Eve evening was the Huyser party. Always at fun night Jacob had his chance to be the center of attention with no other babies around. Next year will be a different story with Dan and Amy's baby on the way and hopefully cousin Gisele will be around too.

Christmas morning Jacob and Daddy had lots of fun opening presents and playing with new toys. After a nice nap we were off to my parents for the VanHeest party. Jacob did some more climbing on presents and very little sleeping before we were off to catch the tail end of the DeWitt party. It was a busy but exciting 1st Christmas for Jacob!!!!
Sorry about the sideways pictures. Jason says it's tacky but who cares, I finally posted Christmas.
