14 Months

Jacob is 14 months old today! I can't believe how fast time flies. I know I haven't been a very good blogger lately but I thought I would take today to update everyone on what Jacob is up to these days. He is walking/running all over the place and emptying drawers and cabinets in no time. It is fun to see his little personality blooming. He loves to give hugs, kisses and high 5's to anyone willing to accept.
We also got a little glimpse of him with our good friends and Jason's cousin (Amy & Dan Huyser) and their newborn little girl Nora on Saturday. He was very sweet giving her a hug. Now he has just about 4 more months of being the only little boy in the house and then his reality will be forever changed.
Other new things for Jacob include:
-going to church nursery for the first time. (Yes, I'm afraid of germs and would not put him in nursery until he was 1 and could walk)
-eating a few new foods (grapes, steak, cheese burgers)
-carefully riding the 4 wheeler with daddy
-doing a few baby signs (finally!!)
-talking nonstop. The newest word to add to his list is please.

Baby News

We are starting to prepare for our new little guys big arrival this summer by looking at cribs and double strollers tonight. I feel like we just did all of this but it was still fun getting to do it again. We found a crib we love but it is backordered so we will have to decided just how much we love it or if we can find it somewhere else. We still have no idea what the little guy will be named but I'm sure it will come to us sooner or later.

Other big news: Jason was finally able to feel the little guy move tonight. I think the little guy is going to be a sweet tooth he really started to kick while we were having strawberry shortcake. Jason wanted to take a picture of my belly with his hand on it but I'm not to into belly pictures of myself. Especially after having On the Boarder for dinner and then coming home to strawberry shortcake. So much for watching how much weight I gain like the doctor suggested at my last appointment. I guess I'll work on that tomorrow.

Fort Walton Beach, FL

Yes, we're still alive over here at the DeWitt household. We enjoyed a wonderful spring break last week with the Slagh's and the Albreck's. Drving to Florida was an adventure with our little guy who unfortuanelty gets car sick like his mommy. Jason was a great daddy and helped with the clean up of the carseat everytime. (yes, it happended many times.)
After seeing the big waves the daddy's got boggie boards and daddy was nice enough to give jacob a ride in the pool!

The girls made sure they got their exercise by taking lots of walks!
We did our best to get a group shot.
Jacob got to play in the fountain while we were waiting to eat dinner at a great Mexican resturant. I wish I had gotten a picture of him playing in the water with just his diaper on but this will have to do.
It was great to getaway as a family and spend time with such good friends.

BLUE

There will be hooks and worms and old fishin' poles.

Cowboys and Indians diggin' for gold.

There will be rocks and sticks and little black bugs.

Grubby old kisses, and great big bear hugs.

There will be bats and balls and little skinned knees.

Swingin' and runnin' and climbin' up trees.

Soon tomorrow will be here, with so much to do.

Surprises are waiting for me and for you!

Happy to announce were having another BOY!!!

Today was a great day! We were happy to see our little baby is not only a boy but looked healthy and active on the ultrasound. He measured a little big for my due date so either we have a bigger baby on the way or my due date is a little off. Jason and I celebrated the good news by going out to breakfast together. A really treat for me since breakfast at the windmill isn't a regular thing for me like it is for Jason.

Jacob and I also enjoyed the beautiful afternoon by spending sometime outside. Jacob finally got to use some of his Christmas presents that have been waiting for him in the garage for the past few months. Jacob really loves the outdoors, yet another reason for me to be anxious for more nice days like today.
